How to use MindCraft Pro?

How do I create my first map?
Click the «Central idea» node and type your text. This is the root node — all other branches radiate from it.
How do I add a new node?
Keyboard: select a node and press Tab for a child node or Enter for a sibling.
Mouse/Touch: press the green + button that appears when a node is selected.
How do I delete a node?
Select a node and press Delete or Backspace. The whole branch with its children is removed. You can undo with Undo (Ctrl+Z).
How do I drag a node to another parent (Drag & Drop)?
Press and hold the empty area of a node (not the text field) with the mouse (or finger on mobile) and drag it toward the target node. A red dashed line follows the cursor. When the target node highlights — release. The node becomes a child of the new parent.
Which map layouts are available?
Press «View» and choose one of 5 layouts:
  • Retrospective (Right) — classic tree left to right
  • Roadmap (Balanced) — nodes spread to both sides
  • Reverse (Left) — tree right to left
  • Analysis (Hierarchy) — vertical structure
  • Brainstorm (Rays) — radial layout
How do I customize an individual node?
Click a node — a sidebar opens on the right. There you can:
  • 📅 Set a deadline (date)
  • 🔗 Add an external link
  • 🎨 Choose the node color
  • 😀 Assign an emoji/icon
  • 📝 Open the note editor
How does the note editor work?
Press «Note editor» in the node sidebar. A full-screen rich-text editor opens with a toolbar:
  • B, I, U, S — bold, italic, underline, strikethrough
  • H1, H2, H3 — insert headings
  • • 1. — bulleted and numbered lists
  • → ← — indent/outdent items (or Tab/Shift+Tab)
  • </> — code block
  • 📊 — insert a table with buttons to add rows and columns
  • 🖼 — insert images (up to 10 MB, paste from clipboard with Ctrl+V)
The button expands the editor to full screen.
How do I split a note into map nodes?
Open the note editor and use one of two buttons:
  • 🕸 Split into nodes — creates a separate node for each heading and each list item
  • 📑 By headings — creates nodes only from headings (H1-H6), and all text under a heading is saved into that node's note with formatting
How do I export a note?
Three export formats are available in the note editor:
  • 📄 MD — export to a Markdown file
  • 📄 DOC — export to Word format
  • 🌐 HTML — export as a ZIP archive with an HTML file and images
How does the task calendar work?
Press the 📅 Calendar button in the toolbar. A monthly grid opens showing all nodes with assigned deadlines. Double-click a task in the calendar to jump to the matching node on the map.
How do I save a map to the cloud?
Logged-in users have a «Save» button in the top bar. The map is stored on the server. All your maps are available via «My maps» — where you can open, delete and manage access.
How do I share a map by link?
Open «My maps» and change the access level:
  • Only me — the map is private
  • By link (view) — anyone with the link can view but not edit
  • By link (edit) — registered users can edit the map
Copy the link with the «Copy link» button and send it to a colleague.
How do I back up or import a map?
Backup: press «Backup (.zip)» — a ZIP archive with all map data and images downloads.
Import: press «Import» and choose a previously saved .json or .zip file. The map loads with all its data.
What can I do with the mouse on the canvas?
  • Pan the canvas — press and drag on an empty area to pan
  • Zoom — use the + / − buttons in the bottom-right corner or the mouse wheel
  • Select a node — click a node to select it
  • Collapse/expand a branch — press the +/→/↓ button at the edge of a node
Does MindCraft Pro work on mobile devices?
Yes! The tool is fully adapted for mobile:
  • One-finger panning across the canvas
  • The + button to add nodes by tap
  • Drag & Drop works natively via touch and drag
  • The note editor expands to full screen
  • The toolbar is optimized for small screens

What is a mind map?

A mind map is a visual method of structuring information, invented by Tony Buzan. The central idea sits in the middle, and related topics branch out from it. This approach engages both hemispheres of the brain, improving memory and idea generation.

MindCraft Pro runs entirely in your browser. Logged-in users can save maps on the server and share them by link.
